The First!!!
And here we are! The day has finally come for tempura.te to transition from the land of ideas and dreams to a new level, one of existence and action.
This is a concept that has been brewing for the last year. At first I only knew I wanted to do something connected with healthy eating habits and macrobiotics… Cooking and facilitating workshops here and there has been great, but I wanted to have a forum or platform to share ideas on conscious eating and food sustainability, to inspire the ones that have been following my journey, to spread ideas on better eating habits and to demystify the idea that eating few to no animal-based products is boring, flavorless or does not give you enough energy.
This journey started with the choice of the name. Tempura is a Japonese cooking method through which food is fried – a method which I must confess I only use in very special days as it is not the healthiest option available. However, fried food is generally associated with an upward and expansive energy, warmth, union, festivities… and these are definitely some of the features of my personality. One day, when I was driving by the seaside, I had one of those moments when time stops and you get this huge smile on your face. And “tempura-te” appeared out of nowhere, as if it fell from the sky… and in that moment the name and I became one.
It gathered everything that I wanted to share in this space with you: temperos (spices), purity, a call to action for every one of us to become more active, all under the energy of frying tempura.
Then came the design of the logo, which was so carefully created! And the final product made happier than I could ever have imagined.
From today on, I will use this website as a platform to share seasonal recipes, articles that I find relevant, images of delicious meals prepared by me, and many other surprises…
I believe that as time goes by tempura-te can become more than just a platform to share ideas on healthy eating habits. I hope this blog follows my own footsteps and expands itself to unexpected and unknown trails that can inspire you to be healthier, to eat fresh and delicious food and, most of all, to be happy, very happy.
I hope you can enjoy this journey of flavors, smells and images as much as I do − a journey whose destination is no other than the center of yourself.
Finally, I want to thank all of those who, one way or another, contributed to the existence of this forum. I am infinitely grateful to you.
Let this be the beginning of a big Journey! 🙂
